Handbuilt & Thrown
in Vermont
Back in 2018, while experimenting at my home studio in Vermont, I pressed some clay into an old barn board – and shazam! I fell in love with the texture that was created by the knots in the wood. It captured the stories of old Vermont barn boards that have lived hundreds of years. By preserving their shape in the clay, my pieces are not only functional artwork but an appreciation of our local history too. Ever since that day, this technique has become a part of my signature style as an artist, and I create a wide variety of work that showcases the beauty of wood grain.
What’s with all the knots?
